I love seeing ad campaigns like this. Sure, fusing music and fashion together isn’t something new, but there’s a byproduct of stellar art when the right brand collaborates with the right artist (and the latter doesn’t have to mean mainstream, although this artist is certainly known). Enter the newest Nike Women ad campaign entitled do you believe in more? starring FKA twigs. It’s everything we need right now and forever more: empowering women, strength, diversity, creativity, dance, unity, inspiration… just to name a few. Recall KENZO World’s ad campaign directed by Spike Jonze that shook the advertising world with actress Margaret Qualley dancing to Sam Spiegel & Ape Drums ft. Assassin. Here’s another to add to the (small, right now) roster of creative fashion advertisements in my mind worth a standing ovation. I hope to see many more advertisements like this in the future — one strategy that won’t put the TV on mute.
