This will undoubtedly
be the shearling coat that gets me through metropolitan winters. It’s a deep enough blue to wear with black, which is what I’ve been doing underneath, as the shearling is darker than the outer shell. The coat is by Coach from it’s 1941 collection which, if you remember from this post, is stepping up season after season boldly bringing menswear a new age “cool” factor we so desperately need. Specifically, this collection pays homage to American music and — even more specifically — the late 70’s hip-hop era along with Bruce Springsteen, all of which is entirely evident when you look at the collection from start to finish. Back in early December, I was fortunate enough to attend their Fall 2017 show here in New York City complete with the best after-party I’ve ever been to in my life, a celebration preceded by an outstanding collection complete with similar throwback vibes, but even further back to 60’s Americana (take a look, when you have a moment — will be needing look 22). In other ways to make this coat work, know that it simply just “does” and I’ve been successful with it from blue jeans, black trousers, and even over suits. Let me know what you guys think!
