I’ve been having the urge as of late — and hopefully one that will persist indefinitely — to break free: free of codes, free of rules (within legal reason), free of perfectly fitted clothing (TG for loose-fitting anything), free of the past, free of the future… Maybe it’s this book that I’m reading called “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle that’s breathed a new perspective on how I perceive life; and while it’s a difficult thing to grasp — this idea of now — when you do, even but for a moment, it’s a beautiful, liberating, and creative thing. Or maybe it has to do with my annoyance that I probably share with all of you at trying to crack the Instagram algorithm. Maybe doing this will get me more likes!, when all we’re doing is complying to a system that is not us. I don’t know about you, but if I stuck to what the analytics tells me to stick to, I’d be molded into everything and everyone else that would only evoke ten percent of me. Maybe it’s both, or everything, or a select combination of things. I don’t know, but whatever it is, breaking free — whatever that means — feels right. So rather than comply to what’s worked in the past, because the past does not exist, I’m raising a glass to everlasting now and the infinite creativity that holds that has yet — and will always have yet — to be discovered.
