I’m on a mission
for 2017 (Happy New Year, by the way!) with a newfound dedication and motivation that I’ve spent all of December working to solidify. I’m happy with what I’ve come up, and I’m sure there’ll be some changes to that plan along the way, but it revolves around ensuring that the only 3 things we have — mind, body, and spirit — are in constant check daily. Meditation (I take TM), daily reassurance of goals, a workout plan I can stick with (one of the things on my radar of January), a healthy eating plan that makes sense to me, and an efficient work ethic through intense scheduling to ensure the things I need to get done actually get done. I don’t think it takes a New Year to change, however the changes I wanted to make fell during the holiday season and while overall life was slowing down a bit to accommodate much needed family time (I finally saw my father after 2 years in Paris), I spent my evenings before bed locking down a foundation for how I was going to live each day go forward. As I see success or opportunities, I’ll be happy share them you guys in detail over the next few months. More about the outfit below.
Wearing: Acne Studios Coat // Maison Margiela Blazer // French Connection Turtleneck (similar) // Public School Pants // Pierre Hardy Shoes (similar) // Gentle Monster Sunglasses (similar) // Photography: Paige Campbell Linden
I shot this look over in DUMBO under the Manhattan Bridge (love it over there, just a subway stop away from me). While I’ve normally been pairing these gabardine pants with dress shoes over the past could of years, I’ve recently started wearing them with sneakers; and if the kicks are elevated enough, I think it works nicely. I added a blazer to give the baggy-esque outfit a degree of tailoring to fit my body form and worked in a turtleneck to avoid having to wear a scarf, which I think would have taken away from the modernity of this outfit. Lastly, a heavy cotton topcoat from brand fave Acne Studios to add to the fluid motion of the overall ensemble. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
