It’s a
classic, all-American

(now worldly), comfortable, easy, and always-looks-good look. The jeans and a tee. You throw on your favorite pair of denim with your favorite white white t-shirt and you’re good to go pretty much anywhere. I’m not condemning the look — in fact, it’s what I resort to pretty much daily. And it’s not that it needs an upgrade, but I figure why not take inspiration from a James Dean classic and give it a modern flare? I considered it a quick challenge and I found the answer in texture and style. For texture, Sandro has this incredible mesh (I know, but it’s actually quite beautifully constructed) top — which is 50% off right now — that’s ideal for hot and humid weather. For style, I took a pair of skinny jeans from J Brand that were actually a bit too long and gave them a giant cuff — virtually a fold up to expose the ankle (it’s what I’ve been doing to all my pants lately). And for the top-off, I paired it with a slick pair of Pierre Hardy‘s that I simply live in. Consider it a step up from you go-to slip-on sneaker. There: a blue and white staple from afar, and an upgrade of the expected from near.
