I can sum up 2014 with one, simple acronym: WTF. But I promise you I say “WTF” in a good way. I can’t tell you how much change-for-the-better this year has brought. It’s been quite difficult to muddle through and manage it all, but all good things emanated from the “tests” (if you will) I was put through. It was just so much concentrated into so little. I spent a bit of time reviewing all of the year’s moments as I normally do and figured I’d share it with you, pulling images from the one source we all share content in real-time, which is, of course, Instagram (I’m @talunzeitoun, if you don’t already follow). Here are some of my favorite style moments — both on and off the blog — that I captured throughout the year in times and spaces that were, give or take, “pivotal” moments for me.

In a nutshell, I changed jobs… twice; started my freelance career; took up a former love of photography and video; traveled to Milan with my dear friend Kat for the first time for Fashion Week; moved into my own apartment; worked on one of my first big collaborations with William Rast; put a business endeavor with my mother (SOTAH) in motion; and saw my dad and entire French family for the first time in five years just a few days ago in Paris. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but layered it was plenty for the time as I grew stronger and learned more about myself over the course of the year; that, and I’ll spare you the additional details of everything that happened.

Exactly 1 year ago today, I wrote my “resolutions” for 2014 and those were to train, execute, & enjoy. Now thinking about them, those are quite broad and can be — ahem, should be — applied to all years go forth, so looking into 2015 and 2016 and 2017, et cetera, I’ll continue to do just that. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned this past year, it’s to capitalize on a focus as there’s danger in spreading oneself thin. I don’t mean to get philosophical on you, but why not share what I’ve learned and what’s worked for me? While 2014 was about change, I’m making 2015 about growth and, in doing so, it’s to identify where I’m the weakest and seek help to fill those voids; create structure with carefully planned days; and continually seek inspiration (more travel!). I have so much to share and so many plans for this blog come the new year — all in the name of style, of course — so I promise to be more diligent about posting.

Thank you, 2014. And as for you, 2015: I’m excited, prepared and ready. Bring it on (WTF moments et al).
